The data is in from the 2013 National Veterans Support Survey with interesting results (printed in the box below). The nationwide campaign highlights a critical gap in the public’s knowledge of our role and advocacy mission.
In survey question #5, we ask respondents if they knew that the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs was actively seeking the help of private groups (such as the U.S. Veterans Hospice Committee) to address the problem of hospice care for homeless veterans with terminal illnesses — and 68% did not. Your continued financial support to get the message out to even more Americans will be critical if we are to succeed.
National survey campaigns are useful tools to educate the public and find new supporters who want to get involved with the plight of homeless and terminally ill veterans.
