About the Committee
The U.S. Veterans Hospice Committee operates under the auspices of National Grassroots Advocacy, which is classified by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(4) organization.. That means the Committee can directly lobby Members of Congress and support or oppose specific legislation.
Traditional charities are severely limited in the amount of lobbying they can do, and that often limits the organization’s ability to fulfill its mission.
The U.S. Veterans Hospice Committee recently began operating as a committee of National Grassroots Advocacy, a new 501(c)(4) group that is permitted to do unlimited lobbying.
The plight of homeless and dying veterans really revolves around Congress and the Administration. No organization is going to be able to solve this problem without doing a great deal of grassroots lobbying. The problem is simply too big and besides, according to the Committee's research the American people want the government to help our vets.
A vast majority of the Committee’s work focuses on rallying support on Capitol Hill or mobilizing its national network of supporters to pressure their representatives in Washington.
